Appendix IWB Carry

Postby massman » Mon Mar 25, 2013 6:47 pm

Anyone appendix carry their CPX inside the waistband? For me, this location seems to be the most convenient and readily accessible. If you do, any recommendations on a particular holster? I am fully aware of the inherent dangers of this location but believe those dangers are negated with conscious thought when drawing and holstering. I have an ace case IWB holster that I'm currently using but am open for suggestions. Thanks.

N82tactical.com makes the most comfortable IWB holster I've found. Can't imagine why it wouldn't work for appendix carry

The Ace IWB is what I use, too. A have a nice leather IWB for my M&P 9c, but found that it fits the Ace also, and I actually prefer the Ace for that, too. I do have an Old Faithful on order, and am looking forward to trying it. If it seems do-able for appendix carry I will let you know, but I usually carry between 3-4 O'clock (3:30?)

I use the Bianchi Model 100, size 10A for everyday carry. It's a good, firm, solidly-built IWB holster. Was able to purchase on Amazon for a great price.

But, every once in a while, depending on what I'm wearing, I may use my King "Yaqui style" holster instead. The small one fits the CPX-2 Gen 2 perfectly. I'll use this one when I can't wear a loose-fitting cover garment, such as an open dress shirt. This is a great option for a big guy like me.

I carried for a long time at 3:30 or so, IWB. But due to restricting arthritis () , I now carry at about 2:00 IWB.

I wear the IWB holster inside a snug belt but outside my pants waist. This gives me extra cushion and I forget it's there most of the time. This also allows for better lapbelt positioning and weapon access while in the vehicle if necessary. The last thing I want is to be carjacked and not be able to get the weapon out from under the lapbelt.

I use Uncle Mikes IWB holsters. Size 1-IWB fits the CPX-2 very well. They are cheap and do not last very long, but they are very comfortable. Leather makes me sweat summer and winter.

Works for me, maybe not for everyone. 8)

I carry a Ruger SR40C in a http://3speedholster.com They make them for the SCCY not your typical rig, but I love mine. I wear mine as an AIWB at 2:00-2:30

I can draw seated in the car with seatbelt on (Not the fastest but i can get to my firearm easily)

I find the Crossbreed appendix holster very comfortable and hides the CPX2 great. I use the J clips, the clip sits right next to (even partially behind) the belt buckle. The clip is almost invisible wearing my shirt untucked.

I meant me.. I carry IWB at 4 o'clock all day long. But AIWB is not belly friendly. =)

I was pleasantly surprised that my CPX-2 clicked into my Glock 30 Alien Gear today at the range. I have the Galco TUC460, but given I can really only wear one holster to the range, it let me swap back and forth without needing to pocket carry.

I thought about carrying IWB at first but the thought of getting pants even larger than the ones I already wear was depressing. Back when I was in the Marines, my pants size was 32" waist/34" inseam. 10 years later is was 34" waist/32" inseam. Now, I am still a 32" inseam but my waist is..............ummm, let's just say like many people's favorite cartridges, it begins with a '4'.

Know exactly what you mean. I'm going with an IWB holster, but want to try wearing it between the pants and the belt (it small enough to do that). That way I don't to change pants and the belt will help conceal.

Hahaha. I could easily fit in my old Marine Corps uniform if I had one.
