Sounds like you guys are better shots than the county sheriffs in my area. That's good news for your area.

It's statewide. Missouri Department of Corrections

We don't "carry" per se. Towers are armed with 12 ga and AR. Officers doing transfers are often armed with the Glock. Perimeter patrols carry 12 ga in the car.

And then there is the SHTF moments when all Hell could break loose.

New to the forum and been going through and looking at some of the old topics. This one intrigued me.

I never had to do it and pray I never do, but I say practice, practice, practice until pointing and shooting become instinctive, apply two shots to the boiler room (i.e. center mass), repeat as necessary.

Personally, I'd shoot an attacker just about anywhere except maybe in an explosives locker or an Acetylene plant or a pressurized aircraft cabin at altitude..........

Seriously Man...... Only ONE correct answer CENTER MASS.

I would shoot them anywhere I could hit them, and continue doing so until they got the message. Generally, I aim at the center of the body, just above the stomach.

Two shots, center mass is how I was trained. Of course if you are a really good shot you could do like the guy in "Person of Interest" and shoot them on the run in the knee cap with a pistol at a 100 yards. :)
