How do you carry on your motorcycle?

I carry at the 3 o clock position, and sit on the back of my shirt. :D

No different than anywhere else... 5 o'clock in my holster...

A guy on 1911 forum lost a very expensive gun carrying on his motorcycle. If I remember right, a large truck, maybe a semi, ran it over. It was toast. Make sure it's secure.

I wear a Firstgear Kilimanjaro jacket and carry in my left chest pocket just over my heart.
Easy access even with gloves.
Wallet other side.
I ride 6-800 mile days and is comfortable that way.
Was even carrying that way in June through Illinois! :whist:

I have a First Gear highlighter yellow high visibility jacket and I carry in the right breast waterproof pocket. I carry on the right so it is accessible with my left hand while in motion. The zipper is vertical just outboard of the main zipper on the front and very easy to access.

I just carry like normal in the 4 o'clock (or so) position. I do make sure that I am using something like a black hawk serpa, or in the case of this gun a holster with a retention strap so I know it's not going anywhere.

I have a secure belt holster, but most of the time I just carry in my Firstgear leather jacket, inside the left breast pocket. I had the pocket leather lined to hold my weapon. Prior to the SCCY I carried 2" 38 revolver or a Walther 380. Works great.

I think alot of this comes down to style of bike you ride.
On Harleys jeans and a vest are more the norm so inside the vest or a normal holster work fine.
I ride a Vstrom and tend to wear the Adventure gear, pants are more like over all's with the suspenders so a holster carry is out.
It's hard enough just getting the fly open to pee, let alone trying to draw a pistol.
Buddy of mine carried a 380 in his back pocket and got rear ended by a car that sent him sliding on the pistol like a hockey puck down the asphalt.
Saved his hide but left a hell of a bruise.

In my state, even if you don't have a CCW, it's legal to carry a weapon in your car. (assuming the gun is legal, and you can legally own a firearm) I wonder how this would work on a motorcycle.

So, would it be illegal to have it on your person as long as you stayed on the bike?

Yes that is illegal. It can't be on your body.

For the last year and a half I have been carrying an M&P40 in a holster mounted to the outside of my backpack, next to my back and down low, so that I reach in between my pack and my back to draw it as if it were tucked into my waistband in the back. I ride a dual sport on all types of terrain and in all kinds of weather. My gun is well protected, concealed, and easy to get to. Big advantage is that no matter what jacket I wear, or if I chose only body armor and a jersey, my gun is always in the same place. I bought the CPX-2 for in waistband carry for those times when I don't want to look like a power ranger.
