It is LEGAL to open carry in the state of Florida IF you are Hunting or Fishing or going to or from Hunting or Fishing.
This man was fishing at a monthly event that happens in several Florida Cities every month.

In this case, A Tampa Police Officer quietly Sneaked up behind the Open Carrying citizen and grabbed for his gun.. The Citizen started to go for his back up concealed carry piston, when he realized it was a police officer.
Things could have turned out MUCH worse for the Citizen OR the Police Officer...

Here is a NEWS STORY on the subject

The Citizen or the Police?

Ha! Yep.

It's lawful to open carry in Indiana, almost anywhere anytime.
But still can't buy beer on Sunday.

I've never tried to open carry here in Florida, but I recently went on vacation to Ohio where I'm from. All the states on the way were open carry and so is Ohio, so I open carried the whole trip. Had zero problems. Went into many a restaurant and rest stop on the way. No probs at all. It's becoming more common. If it passes someday in Florida I'll open carry all the time. It's a very comfortable way to carry.

I'm not sure about the other states you went through, but Georgia is an open carry state but ONLY if you have a Georgia Weapons Carry License. Out of state permits are not recognized for open carry. You may carry inside your vehicle, however.

Doesn't have to be a Georgia permit. Only one they have reciprocity with.

The Citizen or the Police?

The police. I would expect a more "professional" approach from them.
