What ISIS Really Wants - from The Atlantic

This author has done some great research and uses ISIS's own words to make this case.

Something for everyone to read and consider.

Thanks, saved for lunch reading tomorrow. We created the problem, now can we fix it?

getvicious,

Thanks for the article...good read.

mikie,

Whether we created the problem or just exasperated a pre existing Centuries Old condition, this more than likely is one of those "problems" that will inevitably solve itself.....one way or another (either way NOT good). JMHO YMMV

How so have we created the problem?

Have you read the Koran??

Better read up on what they are commanded to do to nonbelivers in order to enter heaven.

When you remove dictators that kept strong control over their people and provide nothing in it's place, you get the seeds for ISIS. Now, I'm not cordoning HOW they kept control, but the fact is that two of the countries without the said dictators are now ISIS strongholds, Iraq and Libya. Saddam did not let Al-Qaeda operate in his country because they were a threat to him. Now it's remnants, ISIS, have a major foothold in that country. Gaddafi is another example where we screwed up. Our "behind the scenes" intervention there has really worked out well, hasn't it.
