Thank You not a very good picture. www.hondaofmelbourne.com has a used identical 99 Nomad for sale right now. All 1999 nomads had a major flaw being a Plastic Oil Pump Gear - POG. There are several ways to fix it. Unless it has been done and you can tell by simple removing the Right Side Clutch Cover and look in. No Big Deal to check.

1. Pull Motor split case replace gear. Very Expensive. Kawasaki did warranties and did carry on warranties for many many years after that

2. A nomad rider called "Judge" came up with a idea to remove clutch side cover, pull clutch, using a dremel tool remove only the plastic gear leaving shaft and install his Metal Gear, using set screws and lock tight. This is about $400 now and does have failure rates.

3. Using a OEM 2000 nomad Oil Pump Gear, Machine out shaft leaving only the gear, once side cover and clutch hub is removed using a dremel tool cut off plastic gear. Slip on New OEM machined gear. Using a Mig Welder and Extended Magnet pull shaft out with magnet and apply 3 spot welds. Your Done
and the cost is less than $100. No Failures At All.

While the Clutch was apart I added new Clutch Friction Plates, and a Stronger Clutch Spring from a kawasaki Mean Steak. Never doing this before and reading up about 1999 Kawasaki Nomad tips from others is how I learned to do it. Took about 5 hours from site start up to final clean up. Cost me less than $250. Sure has beat the cost of a newer bike.

I've always said it's good to have choices! The same holds true for both motorcycles AND pistols, right? :D
