Another Oldie but Goodie

Picked this one up yesterday for little money. It is a S&W .38 Safety Hammerless Third Model. The serial number dates it to approximately 1896 - 97. It uses the .38 S&W round which is totally different from .38 Special. I have two other revolvers that shoot .38 S&W, and I reload this round. Mechanically the gun is in good condition. It locks up nicely and the bore is in surprising good condition. Serial numbers match on the frame and cylinder. Appearance wise, I would grade it at about 40%.

Yes, it is one of the several models some collectors refer to as the "Lemon Squeezer". The real name back at the time was the "New Departure". There was the First Model up through the Fifth Model. I am not sure whether there were any in the .32 caliber or not.
