ISSC M22 not fitting holster

Postby bikerlbf406 » Mon Jul 18, 2016 2:43 am

I just bought a Blackhawk level 1 retention holster for my ISSC M22 off ebay. According to everything I read online, the M22 fits the Glock 21/37 holsters as the M22 made by ISSC is pretty much a Glock Clone for the way its made. The holster I bought is made for a Glock 20/21//37. The M22 does fit the holster, however it does not latch in to the trigger guard safety. I've loosened and tightened the trigger tension screw but no luck. The gun fits in the holster all the way just wont lock in place. Any idea? I'd hate to return the holster.

All my searches led to L2 or L3 holsters. Got a link? Or a Blackhawk model number? hth

The Glock 20/21/37 have the squared trigger guard.
I see some random c.2010 images of the ISSC M22 with either a squared or rounded trigger guard ... yours?
I don't know much about the M22, but if their trigger guard design changed, it may affect that specific type of retention holster.
The design change may have been the result of a lawsuit, contending too many similarities to the Glock.
You probably know that history better than I do. Maybe try contacting Blackhawk. hth

Until you mentioned it and I looked up pictures of the M22 online, I didn't even know that they were made with one of two different trigger guards. Now that I know they do, I wonder if the Fobus Paddle back holster which says is made for the Glock & ISSC would fit the gun better or if it would be the same situation I'm in now. Blackhawk doesn't make a paddle holster that is for the ISSC, I only bought it because what research I did do online prior to purchasing it, stated the Glock holster fits the ISSC. However the Fobus holster does list specifically the Glock & the ISSC for that one holster I was looking at.

Yeah, your modern rounded trigger guard may not retain well in that Blackhawk holster.

Here's notice of the legal settlement from 2010, with some interesting comments at the bottom ...
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2010 ... ting-arms/

Yes ... I did see a Fobus made for the Glocks & the M22 ... trigger guard retention method?
http://www.fobusholster.com/products/FI ... 31-86.html
"Passive retention around trigger guard allows rapid presentation, yet securely locks handgun in place."
The form of that Fobus kydex looks like it fits a squared trigger guard, too!
Better contact Fobus to inquire about the modern rounded trigger guard compatibility, eh.

Maybe contact Blackhawk to ask if they have a modification, or a suggestion for the holster you have now. hth

I opted to send it back for a refund. Was at Rural King today and noticed they had a M22 they were selling and had a variety of different holsters including for Glocks. So I asked the sales person if they had any holster to fit the M22 and he found a Glock holster that he thought might work. He opened it up and tried their M22 in it, and got lucky, it fits and locks in place by trigger retention and is a paddle holster like wanted. It's a Safariland holster made for Glocks 20, 21 & 38. Fits good in there though. Just had to tighten the tension screw a bit to keep it from rattling but locks in place just fine and will do the job.

Nice. Glad to hear it.
I happily bought my SAR B6P at a local Rural King ... best price I've ever seen, after their 12% rebate.

The new Rural King ad shows 9mm Armscor 124gr FMJ brass for $10.79 - (Jul-24 / Aug-6)
1092fps - http://armscor.com/ammo/pistol/

edit: I ended up buying three boxes with the in-store rebate ... cheers!
