Slide lock vs slide release

Taking a simple poll:

How many have had both installed at some point in time? Which one of the two do you prefer? Upper or lower?

Well mine came with the new one. I'm not carrying it yet so I wanted to try the old style. I called sccy and they sent me one along with the new base plates, no charge. The rear frame pin came out fine. But the front one would not budge. I hit on it as hard as i felt comfortable, then the punch slipped and dug into the polymer, that ended me trying for the moment. I see its only $15 to replace the polymer according to the new manual, so I'm considering ordering one and doing some custom stippling to the one i dug up. If I do change it out I will give my opinion.

I have yet to pay for any parts from SCCY. They sent me a CPX-2 frame when I first updated the trigger spring and eliminated the thumb safety.

Ask for one.

I've used both types.

I like the new type (bare metal) as it is a lot slimmer. The two parts make the CPX function differently as you loose the Slide Release function with the new Lever. That's not an issue to me as I want it to hold open on the last Round and be able to lock the Slide back manually. The new Lever doesn't interfere with those functions at all.

I have a CPX-1 and wish SCCY would do the same for the Safety Levers. I've been thinking about ordering a new CPX-2 Frame and new Pins and switching over. That will reduce the width by over .25 inches. I prefer a Safety but am willing to trust the DAO Trigger. I pocket carry a lot and that extra thinness would be nice.

Changed mine out and I absolutely love the new style slid lock,it will still release the slide if pressed but better to slingshot. Not having to contend with the bump while in a pocket is nice. The change in over all thickness makes more of a difference than you might think.

Awesome. I'm going to call at lunch today and see if i can get a frame and a few new frame pins. The pins seem to be different diameter. The rear one came out easy enough and goes into the front hole just as easy. I don't dare putting the front pin back in, it didn't want to start in either hole.

+1 for slide lock...always slingshot my slide and am used to it that way, especially since I'm left handed.

I can't release the slide lock without pulling slide. Slingshot only.

I have had both the old and the new, I much prefer the new. I guess after 23 years of teaching small arms and not using the side release to run the slide forward did it to me.

Release. I use the slingshot method on everything I own. I will try the less bulkier lock soon.

Not a big deal...Just makes dumb dumbs rack the slide instead of use the lever. More reliable function for idiots. Much of the newbies have never had firearm training other than Call of Duty which really doesn't train anyone. But this is just my opinion and I am old and served during Vietnam.
