“a unique weapon,” a SCCY 9 mm

Postby arcus10mm » Thu Apr 28, 2016 5:28 pm

Soon after the murder, investigators determined the gun used in the murder was “a unique weapon,” a SCCY 9 mm semi-automatic handgun that is manufactured in Daytona Beach. Manfre said they obtained “gun purchase records” of those in the area who own that type of gun to narrow the list of potential suspects and Bova was on that list. He purchased the gun legally in June 2012 — after he moved to the area from Connecticut — from Bucks Gun Rack in Daytona Beach. http://www.news-journalonline.com/artic ... 4/0/search

I wonder if the article didn't use "unique" because it wasn't the standard bad-guy / gang-banger carried glock pistol.

Well there you go. SCCY is not one of those. 8)

that's being kind. I don't get how they get away with selling these. Doesnt the consumer product safety folks look at firearms?

By Federal law firearms are exempt from regulation by the Consumer Products Safely Commission. Airguns, bb guns, compound bows, crossbows, etc are regulated by CPSC, but not firearms.

Right because a pistol would have to work to commit crime with it.
