Not all SCCY mags will take 11 rounds. Some will. I've got 5 mags for my CPX and they all will only take 10 rounds. Mine are not new mags. Three are from the pre-2nd Gen days. Two came with my Gen 2 in 2012 (very early 2nd Gen).

Jason, the Armorer at SCCY, has previously posted that he runs 11 rounds in his CPX, and always has, without any issue.

For a little historical perspective, the early manual, when SCCY was SKYY, (page 14) stated the capacity was 9 rounds - "As the magazine fills to capacity (9 cartridges)..." and "9mm 9 Round Magazine Capacity" on the features list on the back cover. It's the same magazine body used today.

So hey, it's your call. Some people run 11 rounds without issue. The people that do run 11 rounds have not posted having any issues because of doing that, at least not that I've seen here or in the FB groups.

If you can easily load 11 rounds in your 10 round mag, and then you can load the mag in the pistol with the slide closed, I'd worry that the springs were too weak. If it functions correctly, then I guess that invalidates my worry, except that I'd still wonder if/when it was going to fail. In my experience, or maybe it's just my weakness, but it's tough to load most magazines, especially when new, to stated capacity, much less exceed the stated capacity.

From my understanding of magazines, over time if you over pack your mag the springs will "as I said over time" weaken and "could" cause at some time in the future the rounds to fail to load due to the weakening of the springs, causing you to have to buy new Mags, however it doesn't mean that this will happen during your ownership of the Gun, it may take 1 year or 10 years to happen. Myself I always load 1 less round than the mag capacity states (just in case). FYI... I am not an expert and take my advice or don't, it's up to you. :)

Been loading 11 rounds into the two magazines in a Gen 2 CPX-2 since the time of the first posting of this thread.
It's carried every day and used twice a week for practice (firing both magazines each time).
The only thing is note is that the magazine needs to be loaded into the grip with noticeably more force to get it to "click" so that it locks into position so that it does not fall back out of the grip.
It's enough that I've seriously considered loading eleven rounds into the magazine loaded into the CPX-2 for EDC and only ten rounds in the spare magazine.

I often wondered how many rounds before magazine cleaning is needed?

So starting 1-1-17 all my sccy mags got a good cleaning...new years resolution clean them
at least once a year.

Since we can only have 10 in the mag, here in CT, and to eliminate the juggle of loading 1 from slide release, removing mag, adding 1 rd, and reinserting mag, I start with 10, chamber 1, and carry. Thus always 10 available, even after mag change, not 11 on first use 10 after mag change. Seems less error prone.
