Is there any way to determine the manufacture date of my CPX-2 using the serial number? It is serial # 583662. Thanks!

Look in the SCCY box. You should have a small envelope with a spent 9MM casing from when the pistol was test fired. There should be a label on the
outside showing the date that occured. The serial number on the CPX2 I got in July 2014 was 149XXX.

Hmmm, Bought mine new but there was no envelope with a spent casing. I guess someone at the factory messed up or the dealer did.

Maybe try calling SCCY and talk to Danise to find the birthday of your SCCY. My July 2014 purchase had a spent cartridge dated "1 month before" I received
the CPX2 through Davidsons disributor.

Just contacted them thru their website a couple hrs. ago. Hopefully they can give me an answer. No big deal if they don't.....I was just curious is all.

Another entry just below this on "General Discussion" site on [ Dec.28th relates to four CPX 1's ] with serial numbers beginning at 590XXX. Was your CPX2 "ORDERED"
and came in later for pick up, or was it a "same day purchase" at the dealer? If it was in the store that same day you bought it then it may have been a return.

Got it on-line thru Gun Broker. Was listed by the dealer as new. I disassembled it to clean it before shooting. It's new for sure.

I've been tracking serial numbers and build / test fire dates.

The last good info I have prior to yours is s/n 514xxx in June 2017.

What date did you buy yours?

In the past SCCY wuldn't tell build dates but, who knows, you might be the lucky one to get that info from them.

SCCY's serial numbers are sequential. The model (CPX-1 or 2) doesn't matter. The CPX-3 may be different, or not. I haven't seen a serial number for one of them yet.

Got a reply from SCCY......my CPX-2 was built on 9/20/17. Oh, and they no longer supply the envelope with the spent shell casing/test fire date.
