CPX-1, 2 & 3 Specifications are Incorrect

Postby 45Man » Sat Aug 11, 2018 10:31 am

Why are these specifications shown on their website?
In part, it reads:

Barrel: Machined from bar stock with 7 lands and grooves having a 16‐1 right hand twist.
Receiver: 7075‐T6 aircraft grade heat treated aluminum alloy, machined from bar stock.
Slide: Quality Stainless Steel available with Natural Stainless or Black Nitride finish.
Grip/Frame: Made from Zytel polymer, with ergonomic finger grooves and an integral “RE-COIL CUSHION” on the back‐strap.

There is no receiver, since there are specs for the slide & grip/frame.
No major components are 7075-T6 aluminum alloy.
This is not an AR15.

I also contacted SCCY. We'll see what they have to say.

SCCY response: "Please provide me with your phone # and I will have a Service Tech call and discuss this with you."

There is nothing for me to discuss with them.

Interesting that you mentioned twist rates.
The other night I checked my .355 carbine it came in @ one turn per ten inches.
One day I'll slug the barrel.....

Tonight I looked at the over all length of the CPX-2 bbl.
It came in at least with mine @ 3.1230.
Measured the length to the start of the lands.
.609 from the short side. Long side .762.

So the true barrel length is ~2.514 inches short side.

This will take us to punk test the bullet.
If the ogive is to long
The cartridge will rise over the barrels long side(.762) and wont be able to rotate freely.
Don't ask how I know.

So you contact them to get information as to why they say the specs are what they are, and when they tell you they will put you in touch with the correct person to talk about that, you say no?

If there was nothing for you to discuss with them, why start this thread? Why contact them? All you're doing is making allegations and refusing the answers to the questions you've asked them. And your idea that there's no receiver on the SCCY tells me that you have no idea what a receiver is.
