I have a CPX-2 CB that I'm going to send back to get a different color frame, pin walk, and slimmer slide lock. Locally we only find 2CB or 1TT in the stores and they had no clue other colors existed. Only "mod" I have done is Talon Rubber Black grip (Product ID: 270-Rubber) and Rubber Black extension (Product ID: 289-Rubber). seems like I will need to reorder another set of grips when I decide on the frame color. Par of me wants Crimson and the realistic part of me wants Sniper Gray or Flat Dark Earth.

*I originally ended up here searching for a fix to the slide wobble at the muzzle end.

*300 rounds I had the pin walk on me, not the original owner so not sure how many were fired before.

Howdy and welcome from NC. Glad you found us. Let us know how it works out for you.

"Slide wobble at the muzzle end" - Not sure what you mean by that. The slide has some side to side play in it even with a round in the chamber. The barrel has some play in it too by virtue of the slide play but not within the slide.
It's not the blast that kills you - It's the tumble to the bottom of the 800 foot crater.....

I'll try and take a video of it in a few.

I had a Glock 22 and miss it a bit. I'm not talking about when firing it, more so when you grab the front and manually move it side to side. I later found out why that is at the range. The video of that is still processing, I'll post it later tonight. The pins are coming out and aren't even trying to stay in. The movement is the trigger group trying to stay in with the pins waling away. Don't believe I'll be doing much else to the gun at this point as it put up a temper tantrum when I put about 300 rounds through it. That front pin is finger removable and rear is holding up just enough to not crack the frame.

When that front pin started walking, the slide gap could have been a nickel or 2 dimes gap. I'm trying to not get overly critical for the price that was paid. I figured I might find a fix and then stumbled upon "combat toothpick, broken" fix. can anyone help me identify "Short rails version" that seem to be unfavorable from my short time searching here.

I found that the only fix to the walking pins was to sell the gun.

The aluminum receiver in the cpx that I purchased brand new was milled too short, and always fit loosely in the polymer frame. I sent it back to sccy twice for warranty repair. They chose to fill the voids with wooden shims, which is their normal temporary quikfix for their batch of salvaged defective receivers that they sold as new, low quality weaponry.

I only discovered this after the hidden wooden shims maneuvered into view, which shifted after firing just 40 rounds.
I have referred to the receiver as "short rail" and "short milled", and described the wooden shims as "toothpicks".
This link provides the full description, and shows a photo ... viewtopic.php?f=4&t=17399&start=30#p50025

BTW ... I use IrfanView (freeware) to crop & resize photos.

I'm gonna resize them in a few. I'm used to my other forums that auto downsize and require you to click to expand. This one cuts them and make you right click and view.

It can be confusing, like shooting SA at the range, and carrying DAO.

Resized the pics but the video keeps being crapped on.

SA is lovely, I had some time with revolvers so the trigger isn't "too horrible". I am looking into a 1911 in the next week or so, SA will be the only choice with that one. When I put about 800 rounds into this gun, trigger and recoil recovery was my goal vs trying to shoot the wings off a gnat at 1000 yards. Most realistic threat is going to be up close enough to identify a cologne or what they ate last.

Nice pics fix.
Wondering, what vintage is your used cpx? SN prefix?
Mine was SN 130xxx made in Mar'14.

Merc6 wrote:"The movement is the trigger group trying to stay in with the pins waling away."

Are you saying that you suspect the slide movement is the result of a loose-in-frame receiver (trigger group), and not a result of a loose-on-rails slide? Loose-in-frame receiver is always bad.

Tested 4/7/2015 218xxx

Yes, when pins were "secure" the slide movement was small. Once the pin no longer wants to stay in for a single round fired its the nickel/ 2 dimes now.

I plan on sending it off Friday. Will figure out if I am serious enough about the Flat Dark Earth or Sniper Gray frame swap.
