Wondering, what vintage is your used cpx? SN prefix?
Mine was SN 130xxx made in Mar'14.

Merc6 wrote:"The movement is the trigger group trying to stay in with the pins waling away."

Are you saying that you suspect the slide movement is the result of a loose-in-frame receiver (trigger group), and not a result of a loose-on-rails slide? Loose-in-frame receiver is always bad.

Tested 4/7/2015 218xxx

Yes, when pins were "secure" the slide movement was small. Once the pin no longer wants to stay in for a single round fired its the nickel/ 2 dimes now.

I plan on sending it off Friday. Will figure out if I am serious enough about the Flat Dark Earth or Sniper Gray frame swap.

You're on the right track.
I gotta believe that the best way to buy a sccy is used, and as cheaply as possible.
With the understanding that its probably already been back to the factory at least once before.
And will probably need to be returned again, which sadly doesn't instill much confidence.
But if acquired cheaply enough, routine repairs might be appreciated more, and despised less.
Much like a SNS.

At this point I'm not pressed and realize it's not intended to be shot more than 50 times in one serving. Today is the day I send it off with a list of things to include gen 1 non polymer slide lock dark earth frame and new box. I was holding off until I could get another gun before I mailed my only gun off. Smaller pics and sig edit in the process if you followed my other OT thread. I also got 2 more mags for $40 shipped now if I could find legit deals like that for the 1911 community.

In the past few years SCCY has provided prepaid shipping for pistols being returned for service.

If you have to pay for shipping you might see if a gun shop will ship it for you. An FFL holder can ship by USPS for not much money where you must use UPS or FedEx.

They won't send a label and said people use USPS all the time. FED and UPS $80 and shops $80 plus Transfer fees.

This has been beat to death here and on other forums.

If you are not a FFL holder it is illegal for you to ship a handgun via USPS. It's a violation of the Gun Control Act.

It doesn't matter if people do it all the time - it's still illegal. Someone who is not a FFL holder must use a common or contract carrier to ship a handgun - that means UPS or FedEx.

See page 197 item B6 and B7.

Reason I'm not sure why that was even suggested over the phone.

Per the other threads, I'm just gonna ditch the frame swap and just have them send pins rod and gen 1 non polymer slide lock. Found a barrel to polish and received 2 new mags yesterday.

Omg! They are still telling people to mail em? Wow that is so illegal! Well, it doesn't surprise me coming from a company who had several employees convicted of felonies including the president of the company...

After talking to another person I was able to get what I need and they said the FFL's send them in USPS and that's "how they end up in the regular mail" making the transaction not be $80-$90 as they are trying to get me to do here. Hopefully we should be back in business soon. As mush as it doesn't shoot like my 1911, kinda still miss shooting it.
