The SCCY magazine floor plate pin

Postby GoesBang » Wed May 21, 2014 6:56 pm

Between the mag base and the spring is a piece of plastic known as a floor plate or keeper. It has a pin on the bottom side that engages the mag base to lock it in place.

I would like to see SCCY put a small dimple in the middle of the pin. This would make it easier to reassemble the magazine. You wouldn't have to "smack" it to engage the pin. You could use a pointed object to guide it in place instead.

Agree or not?

You know the hole in the middle of the mag base? The pin or "tit" on the other piece that locks it in place

It couldn't hurt. I've not had an issue when taking my magazines apart and putting them back together - but maybe I'm lucky. It might make it easier to take apart too since you have to push that "pin" up and out of the hole in the base plate. I can see how that might be handy.
It's not the blast that kills you - It's the tumble to the bottom of the 800 foot crater.....
