So far, so good...

Postby bdbrown66 » Mon Jan 20, 2014 11:54 am

Hello, all. I've been looking for a compact, lightweight EDC gun that wouldn't break the bank. After doing some research, I picked up a CPX-2 TT a few weeks ago, and have been breaking it in since. On Saturday I went to the range to put some more rounds thru it, and it try out the ammo that I intend to carry in it (Federal 124gr. HST). So far, I've put about 200 rounds thru the gun, without a single failure to feed, fire, or eject. I'm no expert with a pistol, by any means, but the accuracy of this pistol has been very good, all things considered. So far, I have tried Federal 115gr FMJ, Winchester 124gr FMJ, and CCI Blazer Brass 124gr FMJ. Of those 3, the CCI seems to shoot the best, followed by the Federal. The Federal HST's showed very consistent performance. I have no problems feeling comfortable with this gun on my hip.

Attached target shows 20 rds of Federal 124gr HST at 7 yards.

Cheers,
Brian

Nice group there. Everyone has to have a least one token flyer too.

I have been so spoiled by SA triggers I haven't got groups like yours, but I do consistently hit center mass.

Howdy and welcome from NC. Glad to hear your new CPX is working well for you.

That's a great feeling when all those rounds go without a hitch. That's also a quite nice grouping on that target.
