b-27 silhouette at 15 yards

Postby pghrich » Wed Sep 27, 2017 3:07 pm

After getting my new to me sccy cpx2 back from repair i put now over 200 of my reloads thru it with absolutely no problems.today i tried 15 yards. I put 10 out of 10 in the b-27 head and the remaing 40 in the 8;9 and 10 rings ( most in the 9 and 10 rings.my reloads are 3.5 grains of bullseye with a 125 grain truncated; coated head O.A.l. of 1.100) i am starting to like this gun better than my ruger LC9s. Did you get a chrono trap speed with the recipe?

Never cronographed it but guessing with the 3" barrel around 900fps or so.

Also i put another 50 rounds thru it today at 25 yards, this gun is amazing i had no trouble keeping them all in the 7,8,9,and yes a few in the 10 ring, offhand with no problems, i do clean my gun a lot, after each range trip no matter how many rounds fired.only thing i did do was polish the feed ramp and chamber with scratch x and a dremmel. I've found that you really need a chrono to build up handloads.
It don't need to a expensive one BTW.

You are probaly correct but i have been hand loading for 45 years or so and haven't needed one yet. Also the same lee press. I always stay within newly published data and check my powder charge often. Thanks for the reply, rich pyle

JHP's needs to be traveling at a set speed to fully open up.
This is a S/D gun instead of a paper tiger. I think.
