Another happy customer CPX-2 at the range!

Postby DaveB » Wed Feb 28, 2018 6:48 pm

Well, I was fortunate and bought a newer -2 in the 64K range and took it to the range today. I experienced not one malfunction of the gun. I did have several short strokes because that trigger just does not return fast enough for me. But, that was on me, not the gun. The recoil spring looks like the Galloway except it is contained. The mag springs are really strong which is good. I don't have a trigger guage but I sincerely doubt my pull is over 5 pounds! It's like butter! Just wish the return spring was more powerful and would snap that trigger forward. Oh well. Practice. I love the gun though. I used four different brands of 115gr. and 124gr. FMJ and also Gold Dot 115.gr. GDHP. I loaded one in the chamber and snapped in the full 10 in the mag. No problems. Very happy. I did contact SCCY to see if I could buy a new frame if I decide to customize mine, but no answer. I'm going to order one of the Twisted sights too.

Thanks!!!

When I load 10 + 1
I'll place one in the chamber.
Gently release the slide with care...
Then insert the fully loaded mag.

I just have the slide locked back, point the muzzle down, throw 1 in the chamber, release the slide, and smack in a 10 round Magazine.

Generally accepted practice is to always load from mag. Load mag, chamber a round, drop mag, add one, reinsert mag. Just dropping a round in might cause an extractor issue. Considering the high rate of extractor issues noted in this forum, I would not take that chance.

Agree with the safe loading of the 11th round. Twisted sights are the fiber optic from Twisted Industries.
