mouse gun ammo comparisons

Postby jax gunslinger » Sat Sep 14, 2013 6:40 am

I found this really informative youtube video series that discusses defensive carry ammo for mouse guns. This guy focuses on the TCP, but the same findings will apply to the Keltecs, Rugers and any of the other 3" barreled pocket guns as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH2eFby2T9E

That was pretty interesting. A lot of times these type of videos on youtube are not very scientific, but this guy had it down. Ballistic gel, chronograph, the works.

I've always been partial to the Speer Gold Dot 90gr GDHP ammo for my 380ACP. Its a little picky on HP rounds. I have not been able to get my hands on 9mm Mostly due to cost, yet but I hope to in the future.
I did find this very informative, Thanks for posting.

The 9mm Might perform differently..

Went to the range with chrono in hand.
Federal 115gr target ammo.
I think it's rated at 1125 fps with a four inch barrel.
It did not fair will with the CPX-2 3.1 in. bbl.
1027,1018,1033 and 1007 Avg. 1021.
ES 26 SD 11

WWB 115gr. 1190 fps.
995ts 16 inch bbl

1344,1357,1313,1384,1322 Avg 1344
ES 71 SD 28

Then the weather got to dang gum hot and had to go get my grandson.
