Lead ammo

Postby Sccynewbie13 » Tue Sep 10, 2013 11:57 am

Hello fellow sccy owners. Recently purchased a cpx2. Haven't been able to shoot it yet but hope to soon. Some ranges in my area prohibit fmj etc and only allow lead ammo. Is this gun capable of shooting lead ammo and if so is there any special cleaning needed afterwards? Thanks for any help you can give.

You shouldn't have any issues with lead ammo, cleaning may take a little longer.

only knock down accuracy

Like he said, it's DUR-TAY! Be sure and check the barrel real good. I've had some lead ammunition leave small chunks in the grooves of the rifling. I have a pick set for cleaning that out.

Shot 205 rounds of it , only after effect is that it's really dirty . As mention above

Lead ammo will usually be more accurate and it does not wear down a barrel when compared to FMJ. Just don't breathe in the gun smoke!!! I shoot lead all the time.
