First reloads

Shot my first reloads in the SCCY today.

Bought a Lee hand loader just to give it a try. I have 700 empty brass cases from this gun (I'm sure I lost at least 300) so what the heck.

I decapped and resized by hand. Bought the Lee hand primer and used it. Loaded one scoop of 700X and Xtreme 115g FMJ bullets. I only loaded 6 to see how it worked.

Every reload went bang, recycled the slide, and they all hit the paper!

My Lee press will be in Monday, going to load as many as I have bullets for. I may buy some heavier hollow points also.

Oh and the rest of the 100 factory loads shot just fine...

Very cool Griswald! Satisfying. Sounds like your doing it right if all your rounds worked as planned.

Your reloads fired when you pulled the trigger - were accurate enough for you to hit the target - cycled the pistol properly - didn't blow the gun up....

Sounds like you are well on your way. Now you can start tweaking and tuning your loads.

Update...
4.1/4.2 grains of 700X with Xtreme 115 grain at 1.145 COL

Shot 50 inside the 9 ring and 49 out of the next 50 in the head at the range today.

Clean and not a lot of recoil.

Oh, and bragged a bit on the SCCY to a guy next to me. He shot mine and said he might just pick one up. He had a Sig 938.

Congrats, Reloading is addictive and will save you tons of money in the long run. Precision Delta currently has their jacketed 115 gr. bullets (not plated but fully jacketed) on sale. You may want to check it out. I have been using them for several years. Berry's plated bullets are good, but these are superior.

I started using Blue Bullets, they are a coated bullet. Only clean up after a range session is patch or two to remove the carbon from the powder. :D
