I was told by Gary at SCCY that they use Blazer Brass and I assume that it is 115 grain FMJ.

Mine runs 115's and 124's just fine, but it does not like 147's.

When I bought mine from Bud's in Daytona Beach, they told me that they supply Speer to the factory.

That was 2+ years ago, so I don't know if that is still the case.

When I bought mine a few weeks ago they were giving free 10 round tests of the gun on the range - people were always in line. The ammo they were using was Blazer Brass 115 FMJ. I'd assume this is one that feeds and fires correctly as I don't think they'd want any problems with so many people watching.

Did your CPX come with a test fired case? Look at the case. That's what yours was test fired with. If you want to know what ammo SCCY uses to test fire, and how many rounds they do as a test, I suggest you call SCCY and ask. I imagine they will tell you. Of course your pistol will have been test fired with the ammo that is the case included with the pistol.

I just bought my new CPX and it looks like I was test fired with an Ammoload.

I just bought mine last week and the factory test case was an FC (Federal) test fired the week before.

What are the first three numbers of your serial number?

Trying to get an idea how many they've produced.

Mine is 055xxx from April 2012. My original one was 039xxx from April 2010.

Then, April 2010 039xxx.

Now, March 2016 339xxx.

That’s 300000 in 6 years. Compare to 5000 a year when I bought mine in 2010. That's pretty good growth.

So I called SCCY about the issue I was having with mine, and asked about the CPX-3. The person said that they had orders from distributors for 60,000  pieces!

Maybe I misunderstood, but I think I said, "60,000?" and they said, "Yeah, 60,00."

I said, "Wow, that must be a fun place to work!" They agreed.

All three times I've been back to the factory for repairs they used Federal to test fire it after. A guy named Jason was the tech that fixed mine every time. I live in Orlando so I just drive up to Daytona Beach when I have a problem and they fix it while I wait.
