Winchester 147 grain ammo.

Postby range ncoic » Thu Jun 01, 2017 7:32 pm

I picked up my new Sccy Cpx 1 yesterday. I stopped by walley world and bought a box of Winchester white box 147 grain ammo. Is this to hot for this gun? I see most of you use 115 grain. Should I go pick up 115 gr instead? Thank You in advance for your in put. Jim

Go ahead and use it. No problem. Get a box of 115gr next time and you may find that you are more accutate using that.

I've used WWB 147 grain HP. My CPX shoots it well. I've not had any issue with any weight ammo. I mostly shoot 115 grain because it's the easiest to find.
It's not the blast that kills you - It's the tumble to the bottom of the 800 foot crater.....

Most ammo manufacturers will keep to the standard pressures aka <35k.
So bee it 80 gr-150gr the kick back will be about the same.
Things get kind of fuzzy when you go non-standard as in +P witch is not in sammi compliant.
Have a great day :D
