We need a tactical flashlight.

I think A lot of you will agree with me that it would be great if Sccy were to come out with a tactical flashlight for the cpx series. There is a brand of flashlight named Ozark Trail that uses super small light bulbs that are super bright, and use very little energy. These light bulbs would work great for a light small enough to fit on a gun this size, without losing the quantity of light that would be needed or desired.

Just don't call it a "tactical" flashlight.

Adding "tactical" to flashlight means the retail price goes from $20 to somewhere between $80 and $200 - especially if some "reviewer" tags it "tacti-cool"....

LOL thank you for the correction. This is my first time posting something on a forum. And the price difference from just adding tactical to name was something I didn't know.

BTW - Howdy and welcome from NC.

Do a google search or check ebay. Many times anything "tactical" costs quite a bit more than the same thing, or something comparable, without the "tactical" label.

It would be similar to the laser sight that they have out for it. It would just be a little bit bigger.

Tactical used to mean heavy duty. Now, it's a marketing term. Obviously, the more something costs the better built it's going to be.... In most cases. I wouldn't replace my TLR1 with something off of eBay, but my uses are a little different in nature than most.

A flashlight mounted on the gun is nice, but I don't find it to be a necessity.

I don't think of it as a necessity either. Personally I would just love to have a flashlight instead of the laser sight. I'm a pretty good shot without a laser. The laser sight is helpful for most people, but you cant really use it if its to dark to see what your trying to aim at. But if you have a flashlight at least you can see what your trying to shoot.

Something that would noun like the laser that's already out there that would use the lights similar to the Taurus Curve would be great!

I also don't think a mounted light is necessary, and I'd only attach it when I go to bed, but to have it and not compromise your grip would be of some value.

I'd hold off on flashlights for now. LEDs are going through some changes to make them better and there have been patents filled recently for a flashlight powered strictly by body heat. I'd imagine that in a few years we'll have one that the warmth from a gun barrel would keep charged nicely.

That said I'd NOT want the light on the gun unless it had another purpose as well such as the blinking lights that disorient people. I just don't see it being too practical. You need light to move around and you don't want to walk around with the gun out unless you are doing a very specific range activity.

Unless you are clearing your home after you heard glass breaking in the middle of the night. I would prefer to have my firearm at the ready instead of in the holster with my hands on a separate flashlight. If you are using your firearm mounted flashlight for routine utility lighting, then you are special.
