Call me crazy, but I was in the gun store the other day. I had just picked up my Kel-Tec P-11 and was comparing it to the SCCY. I put a dummy round in the SCCY mag and tried it in the Kel-Tec; it wouldn't feed, it was too short. Next, I put the dummy in the Kel-Tec mag, and loaded it into the SCCY. It locked, I racked the slide back, and it fed flawlessly. That SHOULD mean that the SCCY will take a S&W Mod. 59 mag w/o modification. Can someone check me out on this? By the way, I was very dis-pleased with the Kel-Tec. Its on its way back to the factory, and I am on a waiting list for my SCCY.

The SCCY was designed for concealment and carry it is not a range gun not intended to have thousands of rounds fried from it. If you want a range gun buy a range gun there are many on the market that cost a little more than the SCCY. The new Diamond Back FN (I think that is the designator) is selling at $369 around here full size and 15 round mag. Given the purpose of the SCCY are you going to carry it with a 15 or 20 round magazine. Just my .02 cents have a great day.

In the words of someone else I know, "It's your gun. Do what you want with it."

Keep in mind that these are hybrid magazines. They will function in the Ruger P-Series handguns as well as the SCCY CPX.

No one has ever suggested that you should conceal carry a 15 or 20-round magazine. If you don't need or want that additional capacity, don't buy them. If you do, then by all means buy them.

Keep the change.

Thank you for letting me know I may do as I wish with my pistol. But you did not answer my question, if your not going to carry it and this gun is not designed for a range gun then whats the point? Maybe you should be on the Ruger forum promoting your new magazines. Have a great day.

In my case, I have an EXCELLENT reason for wanting a 15, 17, or 20 round mag. I carry a 10 round in the gun. It would be GREAT to have a hi-cap to re-load with.

Take a look at something called Sugrue

its a moldable plastic that hardens
you may be able to create a filler piece that stays on the mag

I've never worked with it myself, but have seen some pretty crafty projects

I believe you have it backwards. The SCCY mag fits in a P11, buy because of the OEM baseplate, the P11 mag will not fit in the SCCY. The SCCY not only fits, but I tested one in my P11 today and it fed flawlessly.

I can get black. Price is undecided right now as I am working on a sleeve for it as a standard piece rather than an option. SCCY bases do fit, but the locking plate is different.

I have a flush fit 12-round mag ordered. I will know soon how well it works.

I doubt it would work. For one thing the Kel-Tec mag body is marginally longer than the Sccy. Also, the followers are different, I think. The P-11 was intentionally designed to accept S&W mags due to the then new, now expired, Clinton 10 round magazine limit. The idea was to sell the P-11 with a 10 round mag and then let users purchase "pre-ban" S&W 12 and 15 round S&W Model 59 mags and use the Kel-Tec factory 12 and 15 round magazine sleeves to create a legal normal capacity semi-auto pistol.

Free men are not equal. Equal men are not free.

The P11 uses a clone S&W 59/69 follower. SCCY uses the same clone but has shorter legs and they incorporate a pocket to capture the top of the spring. The S&W follower is a simple fit over the spring.

The KelTec P11 magazine is slightly longer than a SCCY magazine. Less than 1/8" longer.
