How do you carry your spare mag?

Postby Cashley1 » Sun Nov 29, 2015 5:21 pm

What do you use to carry your spare mag?what did it cost where can sombody get one?
I carry mine in a heavy duty nylon pocket knife belt pouch.it came.with the knife I carry everyday anyway.
However I did notice a pouch at tractor supply called a "tool pouch" on sale for $10. This is a nice thick nylon construction with elastic sides and is inyended for a flashlight or leatherman but should hold just about any doubke stack mag on the market.it has a thick plastic belt clip that rotates to allow either verticle or horizontal belt carry.
I was broke and just in there killin time.If I buy one i'll post a review with pics

When I carry a spare mag it just in my pocket.

Unless I'm carrying OWB I don't carry anything on my belt. I dislike the "Utility Belt" look and find things on my belt tend to get in my way.

Spare is always in the left rear pocket.

It depends on where I am going and how long I plan on being there.

In a magazine holder, on the opposite side of the body. I will also shop the knife stores for knife cases that go on the belt. With the smaller .380 handgun magazines, you will find it hard to find smaller magazine cases to wear, and buying a 3-4" knife pouch works well for these smaller magazines. (cheaper too)

I found a KYDEX in the waist band carrier that tucks neatly in my belt and is comfortable to wear. It is the abbreviated holder because the SCCY is a shorter magazine than for a full size 9mm so there wasn't any modification other than I felt like it was a little loose holding the magazine so I got the soft pad of sticky velcro and attached the small pad to the inside of the KYDEX to tighten it up and it works great. It cost me $20 at the local gun store. It matches the Fobus paddle holster perfectly and because it is in the waist band it is out of the way for carrying. Conversely I have a leather maker that made me a dual magazine holder for on my belt that works well when I want to carry two magazines.
